Fragrance Personality Typing Tips For Gift Giving

What is a fragrance personality you ask? Consider the  personality of the person the fragrance is for, their taste in food, their favorite smells, and even their movie and music preferences to answer this question. The attributes of the person should be captured in the essence of the fragrance you select. You also want the fragrance to smell amazing -- to mostly everyone who will come into contact with you or the person you're buying it for.

Ask yourself a few questions like are they/you a carefree, easy going person, or traditionalist? What type of music do they/you listen to, rock, top 40, eclectic? Are you a outdoors person vs a couch potato that will enjoy a great book, or a thriller movie? Is your recipient feminine, or masculine? Do they prefer the smell of  clean air like the ocean, floral scents like flowers, fruits, woodsy or earthy like the trees? Who knew, right?!

Strong bold personalities reflect this attribute in their dress, speech, entertainment and most likely their fragrances. Geographical origin and familiar scents is also a powerful factor not to overlook.

Before you are bedazzled by the unending smells, and completely overwhelmed by the department store perfume counters, do some research on your gift recipient; armed with this information you will be less intimidated in choosing a fragrance as a gift. Then you can visit, the garden, where customized gifts, moisturizers and other stimulants to the senses grow. Once the fragrance personality is determined selecting online is a breeze, try our site at to purchase. For further help, here is a recent example I experienced after thirty years in the industry I had the following challenge:

Case study:
Subject A : My favorite female family member
Occasion: Birthday,
Age: sworn to secrecy-let's say over 21!
1. Easy going and fun
2. Would prefer a scent reminiscent of true love (hopeless romantic she is!)
3. Favorite smell Jasmine
4. Favorite scent is the ocean, grew up boating
5. Applies fragrance once per day
6. Movie choice...comedy
7. Music/top 40

The best scent for this romantic, sensitive and sweet personality would be a bouquet of complementary florals, sure to woo even the most fickle of noses. Look for familiar notes like magnolia, jasmine, rose and lily. For the more fresh-minded, keep it light with a hint of lavender or a fresh, herbal top note. For those with a hidden sultry side, pick up a fragrance with a bottom note of amber, wood, musk or vanilla.
Gift selected: IMANI's Customized Flower gift box!

IMANI's Secret Garden has a plethora of fragrance types, floral, amber, spices, and some can be mixed for unique combinations. Frankincense and Myrrh are a favorite combination. Or Cinnamon with Vanilla, Cherry Berry and any Mango.

Keep in mind the age of the person is important too. Gifts for most mature men and women tend to be successful with the more muted fragrances, florals one base scent without sharp edges, flowery or Woodsy; then there are the exceptions like my grandmother years ahead of her time!

Some people have a sensitive nose that the smell sometimes gives them headaches or make them nauseous. Giving them the right fragrances are important in order for them to appreciate your gift. As for me, I have a light mood, I am a couch potato that enjoys reading romantic novels. I love the smell of books and I know that now, there is a perfume out there that have the smell of books. It is expensive, yes, but worth the price.
